Five for Ten: C'mon, get happy!

It's Day 3 of Five for Ten and the second topic is happiness.  I'm sure many participants will write about the meaning of true happiness, or perhaps their own pursuit of it.  I've decided to keep it light and would like to tell you about the moments that make me happy.

Things that make me happy:

Spending a relaxing sunny day outside with my family.

A steaming hot flavored latte from my favourite coffee shop.

Visiting and sipping wine with my mother.

When J does something he is supposed to do without having to be reminded.

When Miss M gives me an extra long hug at bedtime.

A good chat with a close friend.

When Hubby does the laundry (and he's been doing a lot lately - thanks Hubby!).

When my children do something quietly together with no bickering.

When I'm recognized for my extra efforts at work.

Getting into bed with cool, clean, fresh sheets straight from the clothesline.

When Hubby holds me tight in his arms.

Driving alone in my car, blasting the radio and singing along as loud as I can.

Karaoke night with friends and a few beers.

The smell of freshly cut grass.

What are some of the little things that make you happy?

  3. My husband doing laundry would definitely make me happy. He could also do the dishes while he's at it.

  5. Yeah, the laundry is a BIG one on the happy list! It has been such a relief lately not to end up with 8 loads of laundry to get done every Sunday!

  6. Well for starters STARBUCKS...especially when it's with a good friend.

Oh and the music blasting in the car. That I LOVE too.

But my absolute happiest moment are snuggles in bed with the kids, when time stands still and I can be just with them.

Loved reading your list my friend!

  10. I completly agree with your whole list...with one exception, I'm this strange person that likes my sheets dried in the dryer. I think I'm still traumatized by my mother's crunch sheets and dryers....but nothing beats going to bed with clean fresh sheets.

My hubby is also doing the laundry these days, it is heaven.

I am a coffee addict. Coffee in bed is the start of a very happy day (doesn't happen very often)

Friends, wine, good food, a good book, writing a good story all things that equal happiness to me!

  11. Ooh... good call on the clean sheets from the
    line!

Lattes make me happy, too... and belting it out in the car. Taking pictures and capturing a great shot! So many little, simple things.

  12. Thanks everyone! Those are all great happy moments! Just writing this list made me feel happy!
And mommjanie, I don't have a clothesline, so mine come from the dryer more often than not. That fresh, clean feeling is still good. But lately I bring my sheets to my mom's house so they can be hung on HER line!

  13. OOh, the cool sheets from the clothesline. GRIN. Also, being in bed talking quietly with my Sweetie while we listen to the kids chat quietly with each other, too. Happiness at the end of the day.

  14. Mmmmmmm, a steaming hot latte! I could use one of those right now ... along with a super-gigantic brownie with lots and lots of gooey chocolate icing. That would make me so very happy. =>
